Fungicide Valbon gets extended SOLA for ornamental crops
Date:07-02-2010
Fungicide Valbon (benthiavalicarb and mancozeb) has been granted an extension to its specific off-label approval (SOLA) by the Chemicals Regulation Directorate for use on outdoor ornamental crops and amenity vegetation.
Certis technical officer Alan Horgan said that following the extension of use, which was granted after re-registration as part of the EU pesticide registration and Annex 1 process, growers of ornamental and amenity crops now have continued access to "an effective fungicide against downy mildew".
He added that the active ingredients offered growers translaminar and local systemic activity "in one robust and rainfast formulation".
The maximum individual dose is 1.6kg/ha per crop for ornamental crops and 1.6kg/ha per year for amenity vegetation, with a maximum of one application permitted in both instances.
