New firm LP Sementes launches tolerance hybrids in Brazil

LP Sementes e Biotecnologia, a new Brazilian company with Chinese capital in the seed market, launched three new hybrids in the market in February.
This was announced during the Coopavel Rural Show, held between February 5 and 19, in the city of Cascavel, state of Paraná.
Three new hybrids named 2B533, 2B500, and 2B450 have been launched. They are all available with the Powercore technology, which acts to control and suppress major corn plagues and brings tolerance to herbicides such as glyphosate and glufosinate.
2B533 has wide adaptation in all windows of planting in Paraná and is recommended for high-quality sillage production and grains.
The early cycle 2B500 presents a high productive roof with excellent health of planting and is recommended for early stages of planting, mostly in the West of Paraná. The third launch, 2B450, has a super early cycle, with high productive roof and optimal adaptation, gathering the rapid cycle safety with more crop yields of high investment.
LP Sementes is a result of a
concluded negotiation in the end of 2017 that totaled $ 1.1 billion, excluding the transaction fees and including the acquisitions of Dow AgroSciences Sementes e Biotecnologia Brasil Ltda, the total access of the germplasm bank of Brazilian corn, the Morgan brand, and the license use of the Dow Sementes brand for 12 months. A new brand will be launched in the second half of the year to replace Dow Sementes in corn sector.
The new company was born with absolute competitive advantage at the national farm business, having 18.5 per cent of the market share in the Brazilian market of corn seeds and holding third position in the ranking of sector, when added to the participation of Morgan and the new brand to be created.
