Ourofino launches fungicide Nillus against soy rust
Date:02-28-2018
Ourofino Agrociência’s protective fungicide Nillus (chlorothalonil), presented in February, promises to be a new option to control one of the worst threats to soybean crops in Brazil, the Asian rust.
The product was referred to the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Supply (Mapa), according to the resolution published in the Official Union Gazette under registration No. 25,417 in November, 2017.
According to Ourofino Agrociência, the product has been indicated for crops such as peanuts, rice, banana, potato, eggplant, carrot, citrus, kidney beans, apple, watermelon, melon, pepper, soybeans, tomato, wheat, and grape.
Chlorothalonil is a protective fungicide that, according to the Brazilian National Agricultural Corporation (Embrapa), when applied in sequence, could improve the effectiveness of specific fungicides to control the Asian rust.
“With a unique and innovative formulation, Nillus is composed of micro-particles that bring better recovery to plants and larger control period, also contributing to the resistance management of fungicidal diseases,” Ourofino affirmed.
The product was a company highlight during the Coopavel Rural Show 2018, which was organized from February 5 to 9 in Cascavel. “It is an innovative formulation for resistance management of Asian rust on soybeans. Besides, it is recommended for other diseases in several crops important for Brazilian agriculture,” Flávio Falcão, regional manager at Ourofino Agrociência, said.
