Nissan Chemical’s agrochemical segment up 9% in H1 FY2017

Sales of Nissan Chemical’s Agricultural Chemical segment rose by 9% to 26,147 million yen in the first half year of fiscal 2017 ended September 30, 2017. Operating income was up by 18.8% to 8,138 million yen.
According to the company, the sales of Fluralaner (active ingredients for veterinary pharmaceuticals) increased. “ROUNDUP MAXLOAD AL”, herbicide for general household and “ALTAIR” (paddy rice herbicide) had healthy sales.
The company forecast its Agricultural Chemical segment’s sales a 14.6% increase to 32.1 billion yen in the second quarter of fiscal year 2017 compared with the same period of fiscal year 2016. Operating income is expected to rise by 19% to 7.5 billion yen.
Nissan Chemical also forecast its domestic sales of all major products down due to a change in domestic shipment and pricing policies resulting in one-time sales shift from 2H FY2017 to 1Q FY2018 (¥1.4billion).
