Yinnong to build China’s first Saflufenacil.Glyphosate mixture herbicide production line
Date:11-02-2017
The groundbreaking ceremony of the herbicide workshop of Yinnong Science and Technology Ltd. was recently held in Ma’an Town, Huizhou City.
The production line is China’s first Saflufenacil.Glyphosate mixture herbicide production line, which is expected to be brought on stream during next March and its capacity is expected to reach 30 million tons in the coming two years, which will generate sales of Yuan300 million.
In 2014, Yinnong entered strategic cooperation with BASF, where BASF would provide its patent of Saflufenacil TC, while Yinnong is obligated to develop and produce a non-selective herbicide using the Saflufenacil.Glyphosate mixture. After devoting three years to this, Yinnong has screened out two formulations: Saflufenacil.Glyphosate 32% OD and Saflufenacil.Glyphosate 75% DF.
Later on, BASF is prepared to make Saflufenacil a major ingredient for future herbicides. According to the information, the Saflufenacil patent in China will expire on April 30, 2021. Also, information shows that the global sales of Saflufenacil reached $140 million in 2014, which will enable BASF to achieve peak annual sales of EUR300 million.
It is reported that Yinnong has reached a sales agreement with BASF and FMC. Upon operation of the herbicide project, BASF will take charge of promotion and sales of Saflufenacil.Glyphosate 32% OD in China and the Asia Pacific Region, while Yinnong, together with FMC, will be responsible for sales of Saflufenacil.Glyphosate 75% DF.
