Agrivalle registers microbiological insecticide AUIN in Brazil
Date:08-18-2017
Agrivalle has just received the registration for the microbiological insecticide AUIN (Beauveria bassiana) in Brazil for the management of the whitefly on crops such as soybeans, kidney beans, potato, tomatoes, among others.
The product can be used by organic farmers and also by those who grow in the conventional system. The Beauveria bassian fungus acts, besides the whitefly, on several agricultural plagues, such as the banana root borer (Cosmopolites sordidus) and the plant-feeding mite (Tetranychus urticae).
Developed by the Research Department of Agrivalle, AUIN does not leave chemical residue on the plants, fruits or into the environment, and it is safe for consumers and workers that manage the product in the field. It also does not have a grace period for the consumption of vegetables treated with the product and promotes a natural balance in the environment not allowing the appearance of resistant plagues.
The whitefly (Bemisia tabaci) is hard to control and is on the list of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Supply as one of the plagues with more potential to inflict losses on crops. The maker highlights that the arrival of this product for the management of the whitefly is extremely important for the programs of Integrated Plague Management
“AUIN acts to control all the stages of the whitefly. The best results are obtained when the treatment is done at the initial stage of its development and even preventively,” explains Wagner Coladel, marketing manager at Agrivalle.
According to him, “the efficiency potential of the new product can reach up to 85%, when conducted adequately, reducing or eliminating its population and guaranteeing quality, productivity, as well as the profitability of the planting.”
