Bayer launches systemic fungicide Aliette to fight European Canker
Date:08-03-2017
Bayer presented Aliette (fosetyl) last week, which is an important technology that will fight European Canker (
Nectria galligena Bres.).
It is a systemic fungicide, used for aerial spraying on several crops, for seedling treatment, seeding and brushstrokes on the brush tree.
An important aspect of the infection caused by European Canker is the natural harms done through defoliation and by harvest. According to the Marketing Coordinator of Bayer for South Brazil, Elaine Delgado, Aliette is different in that the product deals with the disease through prevention.
“When it spreads, European Canker can overtake all the yields of the farmer. Prevention is the most adequate and, in this case, we recommended the application of the fungicide during flowering, in the spring, and during second spraying after 15 days,” she recommended.
However, Delgado highlighted that Aliette is not only used for preventive action. “Its use also helps cicatrize the lesions of the disease, because it helps the plant overall, due to the natural defenses that it stimulates the plant to promote.”
