Andermatt launches new tool for IPM strategies to control SWD
Date:07-26-2017
The spotted wing drosophila (SWD) is an invasive pest and a big concern for berry growers all over the country.
SWD are highly susceptible to insecticide resistances why a combination of different options are necessary. With the cup trap Drosal Pro and the corresponding attractant DrosaLure, Andermatt Biocontrol is launching a new tool for IPM strategies to control SWD. With the included hanger and SWD-sized holes, Drosal Pro is a convenient, re-usable cup trap for monitoring and masstrapping, especially when used as a trapping barrier around the crop. Drosal Pro has been developed in Switzerland in collaboration with Agroscope (Institute for Plant Production Sciences IPS). Drosal Pro and DrosaLure are proved in practice and are commercially available in many other countries such as Switzerland, Germany, France, Spain, United Kingdom, Italy etc.
