IHARA consolidates its position in biologicals with two launches at Hortitec
Date:07-04-2017
IHARA, a high technology company specialized in crop protection, is strengthening its position in the Brazilian biological crop protection market with the launch of two products: the fungicide ECO-SHOT and the insecticide COSTAR. The new products were presented at Hortitec fair in Brazil, from June 21st to 23rd, considered one of the leading showcases in the vegetables & fruits markets in Latin America.
“The efficiency of biological products is one of the main doubts of the farmers so we are launching two products with high efficacy and adopting a consistent position with the delivery of these products”, explains Maurício Hideki Ouchi, Biologicals products Manager of IHARA.
This new positioning will also support the growth that IHARA foresees in the biological sector. According to Hideki, the company has 12 projects in development in this segment. “With our investments in research and development, we are growing in a sector of great importance for Brazilian agriculture”, he says.
Hideki claims that the biological market grows around 15% per year, though there are no accurate statistics available and the sector is still marked by informality. “We believe that the biological products are complementary to agrochemicals in our portfolio, in our partners’ businesses, and in the integrated handling of pests and diseases. For that, it is strategic to be well-positioned in this segment.”
Both releases presented at Hortitec are already results of this strategy. ECO-SHOT is IHARA’s unprecedented biological fungicide and it can be applied until the harvest day, continuing to protect the harvested food against fungal attack. “This is what makes ECO-SHOT the ideal product for the farmer who values the quality, both for the domestic and external market, since it does not generate any export restrictions”, he highlights.
COSTAR is the most potent biological insecticide in the market due to its high concentration of endotoxins. Intended for caterpillar control, COSTAR can be used throughout all the plantation cycle, without affecting beneficial insects and with no restrictions in external markets as well. “An advantage of biological products, such as COSTAR, is that they are registered by targets, which allows their application in all crops where these targets are found”, Hideki explains.
"Innovation is in IHARA´s DNA and, therefore, we want to offer complementary solutions to the products that we already have. We want to contribute to the growth and competitiveness of the Brazilian agriculture", he says.
