By Think Real - In 28 May, 2017, China’s National Defense General and Ministry of Water Resources issued a message that the national drought area have reached over 2.7 million hectares up now. Some area, like west of northeast China and middle north part of north China have suffered the most serious drought in these five years.
In the early summer of this year, the north China continued high temperature with less rain, which caused serious impact in the sowing of corn, soybeans and other large autumn crops. Northeast drought in China was particularly serious. The following three provinces, Heilongjiang, Liaoning and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, were still suffering a severe drought, whose affected drought area accounted for 86% of the national total drought area field. According to weather forecasts, the northern drought might continue to develop in the next few days and would cause severe impact for food production, especially for large autumn crops.
It is noteworthy that long-term high temperature and drought will lead to the occurrence of crop diseases and insect pests, such as aphids, thrips, red spider, yellow spider, blackbird, pets with litura and powdery mildew. If farmers increase the use of dosage and mixed pesticide arbitrarily in the time of high temperature and drought, it will easy cause damage.
