BASF launches fungicide Sercadis® for used on potatoes in France

BASF France Agro launches fungicide Sercadis® (fluxapyroxad, trademarked as Xemium®) for the control of rhizoctonia diseases and silver scurf (caused by the fungus Helminthosporium solani) of potato for the 2017-18 season.
Sercadis® is the only fungicide in the potato postharvest disease category to be permitted for tuber treatment or seedling treatment. It therefore makes it possible to adapt to all situations of infestations: diseases present on the tubers and/or in the soil.
To control rhizoctonia diseases and silver scurf on plants, Sercadis® can be applied before planting on the seeds (on Mafex system), at a dose of 0.2 l/t, pure or diluted. Sercadis® is an easy to use product with all types of equipment.
Against soil rhizoctonia, Sercadis® should be applied at a rate of 0.8 l/ha using a nozzle system installed under the planter. On this use, it allows to alternate the modes of actions fungicide to fight against the rhizoctonia of the soil.
