Bayer gets registration for bionematicide Oleaje in Brazil
Date:05-08-2017
Bayer was granted registration of the microbiological nematicide Oleaje (Bacillus firmus) in the end of March.
It is a contact product for seed treatment, indicated for the control of the following plagues: root knot nematode (Meloidogyne incognita), root-lesion nematode (Pratylenchus brachyurus), and the Meloidogyne javanica.
The registration was published on March 22 in the Official Union Gazette with the allowance of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply under the number 2,317. The product is already in the Agrofit System of the Ministry.
Oleaje is exclusively aimed for seed treatments. The formulation has concentrated suspension, presenting a classification of low danger to the natural environment. According to Bayer, due to the habits and characteristics of each crop, in an axial root system or pivoting, can be used with a larger dose for shrub plants (as the case of cotton) and a lower dose for crops, such as soybeans. The larger dose can be used for produce with historic pressure and occurrence of plague in the previous crop.
In a fasciculated root system, the larger dose can be used in an area with historic high pressure and occurrence of plague in the previous plague. The product can have agronomic efficiency proved for crops, such as cotton, corn, and soybeans.
