Date:05-08-2017
Ourofino Agrociencia and Funding Authority for Studies and Projects (Finep), an organization of the Brazilian federal government under the Ministry of Science of Technology, announced the creation of a two-year partnership to inject R$ 60 million for the development of new agrochemicals. The loan will also be used to set up a WDG industrial plant for herbicides.
With the inauguration expected in July this year, the WDG factory will invest some R$ 12 million. Nearly 70% of this total will be paid by Finep, which is linked to the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovation, and Communications.
According to Ourofino Agrociência, the applied technology is the most modern and efficient in the agrochemicals market and offers advancements in the procedure of formulation and the reduction of operational exposition at the manipulation of the product, as well as aims to reduce environmental pollution.
Marcelo Abdo, Financial and Administrative Director at Ourofino Agrociencia, explained, “The loan will subsidize our innovation projects, research, and also the concept of formulations that are more and more efficient”.
According to Victor Odorcyk, Innovation Director at Finep, the goal is to offer new solutions for agriculture. “Ourofino is fundamental to conquer and increase this sector in Brazil. The company represents new and big challenges in Brazil that will need to be overcome in the future to compete globally. The partnership will testify and be evidence of this evolution. We do not want to stop here, the goal is to seek new challenges together”.
“The current goal of Ourofino Agrociencia is to offer personalised formulations for agriculture in the tropics. Brazil is a different country, in terms of climate, soil, and moisture, and therefore, producers need solutions that correspond to these necessities. That is, a different scenario from what is requested by the international market,” noted Luciano Galera, Director of Marketing, Research, and Development at Ourofino Agrociencia.
“We offer solutions that are a lot more efficient, because we increase and consolidate this process through a network of collaborators and researchers, besides relying on partnerships, such as the one with Finep, to offer a different line of products to help the work of Brazilian producers,” said Norival Bonamichi, President of Ourofino Agrociencia.
