Nufarm distributes plant growth regulator ProGibb in Brazil
Date:04-25-2017
Nufarm announced the start of the distribution of ProGibb 400 (gibberellic acid), a plant growth regulator made by the Japanese company Sumitomo, in Brazil.
According to the companies, the new technology was tested several test fields in the country, being 30 of those installed during the 2015-2016 crop.
The product increased the number of green beans and weight of the grain on soybeans. It resulted in productivity grains of up to five bags per hectare in comparison with other treatments.
“There were some test-crop in which the application of ProGibb 400 increased the yields on soybean on up to 400 kilograms per hectare in relation to the so-called testimony-areas,” affirms Carlos Mella, agronomist, manager of herbicides and adjuvants of Nufarm Brasil.
According to Mella, ProGibb 400 is the most concentrated gibberellic acid formulated product currently available in the Brazilian plant regulator market. According to the agronomist, the tests and research held in the last crop also revealed that the new product brought a reduction of abiotic effects and plant stress, caused mainly by drought, by phyto-toxicity of agrochemicals and low temperatures.
“ProGibb 400 represents, mostly, a technological tool for productivity increase. When investing in this cutting-edge technology, the producer will optimize the genetic potential of the crop and will enable the increase of profitability,” Mella concludes.
