Date:03-28-2017
Kuldip Mudhar has been appointed development manager UK and Ireland for Gowan Crop Protection Ltd. This is a new position and reflects the company’s increasing significance in the UK and Irish markets.
“This new position illustrates Gowan’s continuing commitment to the UK and Ireland,” says Dominic Lamb who heads up Gowan Crop Protection in these areas. “Basing our new International Head Office at Rothamsted Centre for Research and Enterprise reinforces this commitment.”
“Kuldip is a highly experienced, well respected manager in the industry. He brings with him a wealth of relevant experience, expertise and knowledge and I am sure he will add significantly to our business,” says Dominic.
Kuldip Mudhar started his career as a trials officer for Ciba Agriculture, where he worked for five years as the business transformed to become Novartis and then Syngenta. He then moved into the specialist trials area of potatoes working for Solanum. This was followed by a five year stint with TAG (The Arable Group) in Hampshire, where his team were tasked with developing strategies for farmers on all aspects of agronomy. He then spent a long time at Monsanto, in a variety of roles including Key Account Manager in seed and ag-chem before moving into a technical role managing oilseed rape varieties in Monsanto’s North West Europe region. His most recent position was with Adama where he was a Technical Specialist for sugar beet and oilseed rape.
“This varied and successful career means that Kully brings superb technical and commercial experience with him – in this newly created role for Gowan he will be providing technical backup for our customers as well as increasing “our feet on the ground” in the UK and Ireland.
Meanwhile Robert Plaice, technical manager for the UK and Ireland is expanding his remit to include a European role managing the technical aspects of Gowan’s growing vegetable portfolio” explains Dominic Lamb. “He will continue to provide UK and Ireland customers with technical support as before.”
“I am delighted to be joining Gowan,” Kuldip said. “Avadex Granules have grown to become the ‘go to’ herbicide in any black-grass control programme. We also have an enviable and highly effective portfolio of potato blight fungicides – Presidium, Electis/Roxam 75WG and Shinkon, each one of which deserves its place in the blight control programme.”
“I am looking forward to be able to support our distributors, consultants and others to make sure our products are used sustainably and to their best effect and I am thrilled to be part of such an optimistic business with a growing product range and look forward to making a positive contribution together with some of my ex Monsanto colleagues Rob and Dom,” he says.
