Agria seeks regulatory approval to acquire Zenith Crop Sciences

Bulgarian crop protection products manufacturer Agria has filed for regulatory approval to acquire control of its local peer Zenith Crop Sciences, the country's competition regulator said.
The acquisition is expected to have an effect on trade with crop protection products on the Bulgarian market, a notice posted on the website of the Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC) said.
In 2015 Agria, based in Bulgaria's second biggest city of Plovdiv, posted a net profit of 7.2 million levs ($3.9 million/3.7 million euro) on a revenue of 85.9 million levs.
Sofia-based Zenith Crop Sciences offers 16 different types of herbicides, fungicides, insecticides and liquid fertilisers.
