Date:02-15-2017
Acadian Plant Health (APH) recently announced that Shane Hand had been hired to fill a newly-formed position within the organization. The new position, Director of Product Life Cycle Management, was created to help APH establish long-term and sustainable product strategies that will lay the foundation for the development of a diversified portfolio of product offerings.
Hand will be responsible for managing the life cycles of multiple product lines, from developing strategic product plans to overseeing the implementation of global tactical support activities. Hands’ areas of expertise include branding, product management and developing go-to-market strategies for new products.
“I’ve known Shane for a long time; we worked together for several years at Bayer CropScience. Not only is he incredibly driven, but the experience he’s gained over his career in leading successful product management initiatives for large multinational agricultural companies is going to add tremendous value to the Acadian team,” said Roger Tripathi, President of APH. “I know that he’s capable of great things and I can’t wait to see how he’ll help lead us through our division’s ambitious road map.”
“I’m really looking forward to working with everyone at Acadian Plant Health,” said Hand. “I know that the company is on the verge of launching several new products and I’m definitely ready to step in and make sure their benefits are well understood by farmers to ensure these launches are successful. Having grown up on a farm myself, it’s important to me to feel like the company I work for is helping growers solve modern agricultural challenges and Acadian is doing just that,” adds Hand.
Hand earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Pest Management and a Master of Science degree in Entomology from Mississippi State University in the United States. Over the past 20 years, he has held a number of prominent management positions and most recently, held the title of Marketing Director for a subsidiary of a large multinational crop protection and seed company. Throughout his career, he has held a number of domestic and global positions, enabling him to spend time living in seven cities across two continents. Hand brings a wealth of international experience to APH and his new colleagues eagerly anticipate the synergy and market insight he’ll contribute to this division.
