SGS opens sample preparation laboratory in Guayaquil, Ecuador

SGS has announced the opening of a sample preparation facility in Guayaquil, Ecuador, strategically located to service the growing needs of the exploration and mining industry in Ecuador and throughout South America.
Handling samples that will be prepared in-country and delivered to SGS’s existing commercial laboratory in Callao, Peru for geochemical analysis, this new facility has the capacity to prepare 2,000 – 2,500 samples per month. Samples may also go to other SGS laboratories in Brazil, Chile or Colombia depending on client needs.
This new facility complements an extensive global network of preparation, mobile sample preparation unit (MSPU), commercial and on-site laboratories, many of which are accredited to the ISO/IEC 17025 standard.
