French company InVivo announced on December 13th that it has reached an agreement with its Chinese partner HVH, a supplier of generic phytosanitary products, to establish a joint venture company. The two companies will own the new company in equal parts. The joint venture company is being set up to commercialize generic products in Shanghai where this Chinese company located. InVivo expects first commercialization by 2018-2019, with the focus on field crops, especially maize.
InVivo also expects another partnership agreement with a Brazilian agrochemical company CCAB on commercialization of generic products before the end of this month.
"Faced with the concentration of global agrochemical sector, we are willing to keep access to complementary solutions to strengthen InVivo’s market position", underlined Laurent Martel, Director of the InVivo Agriculture division.
The company also plans to focus its development on the areas of digital innovation, notably in terms of biocontrol and precision farming, but also towards the governance of cooperatives.
