New Zealand EPA consulting on import of Syngenta’s herbicide Monument
Date:11-28-2016
The New Zealand EPA is seeking views on an application to import Syngenta’s herbicide Monument, to be used only by professional turf managers, such as councils, turf growers and groundkeepers at sports fields and golf courses around New Zealand. The public comments have been opened until 1 February 2017.
Applicant, Syngenta Crop Protection Limited, is looking to import the product which would be used to control sedges, grasses and broadleaf weeds, potentially reducing the frequency of applications, as well as time spent on herbicide management and exposure for those handling or applying herbicides as part of their job.
Monument contains trifloxysulfuron sodium as the active ingredient and would be applied using ground-based spray equipment.
