Export volume of fungicide increases while export price falls in China in H1 2016
Date:11-23-2016
By Tranalysis - According to China Customs, China exported a total of 51,000 tonnes of fungicide formulations in China in H1 2016, up 20.3% YoY, with the total export value of about USD249.1 million, up 7.8% YoY. However, the average export price of fungicide formulations was USD14.7/kg, down 10.4% YoY.
On export volume and value
Except for the obvious fall on export volume of fungicide formulations in Feb. 2016, the export volume of fungicide formulations remained quite high in other five months. In Q1 2016, the total export volume of fungicide formulations was 24,000 tonnes, up 20.9% YoY, with the average export value of around USD4.92/kg. While in Q2 2016, the total export volume was 27,000 tonnes, up 19.7% YoY and up 10% quarter-on-quarter, with the same average export value as that in Q1.
On export enterprises
The export volume of fungicide formulations from private enterprises took up over 70% of the total export volume. In H1 2016, China’s private enterprises exported a total of 36,000 tonnes of fungicide formulations, up 26% YoY, taking up 70.6% of the total export volume. As for wholly foreign-owned enterprises, they exported a total of 5,000 tonnes of fungicide formulation in Q1 2016, down 2.7% YoY, taking up 9.6% of the total export volume. State-owned enterprises also exported 5,000 tonnes of fungicide formulation in total, down 2.7% as well, accounting for 9.83% of the total export volume.
On trading type
Over 98% of the fungicide formulations were exported through general trade. In H1 2016, 50,000 tonnes of fungicide formulations were exported through general trade in various ports in China, up 20% YoY, accounting for 99.2% of the total export volume. That’s to say, general trade is the major trading type for fungicide formulation in China in H1 2016.
On export provinces
The export volume of fungicide formulations in Jiangsu Province, Zhejiang Province, Shanghai, Shandong Province and Guangdong Province was 45,000 tonnes, taking up 88.7% of the total export volume in Q1 2016, up 21.8% YoY.
Fungicide formulations are mainly produced in Jiangsu Province, Zhejiang Province and Shandong Province, with the altogether output taking up over 85% of the total export volume.
Compared to that in H1 2015, the export volume of fungicide formulations went up while the export value fell, which showed a strong need from the overseas market. Moreover, the falling prices of fungicide formulations were more beneficial to increase the sales volume. However, the decrease on export value might lead to fewer profits made by the pesticide enterprises.
In H2 2016, if need for fungicide formulations from the overseas market remains strong, it will better improve the export volume of fungicide formulations in China. However, the average export value will remain the same range as what it was in H1 2016. It is expected that the export value of fungicide formulations won’t have a huge fluctuation.
