The International Life Sciences Institute (ILSI) will publish in Argentina the work “Maximum residue of phytosanitary products: Local and international regulatory criteria,” prepared by Daniel Mazzarella, the professional of the National Service of Health and Food Quality (Senasa).
The work, which is part of a set of Special Reports of ILSI, was made by a work group at the Institute where Mazarella works at the Direction of Agrochemicals and Biologicals at the Senasa. The subcommitee of phytosanitary constitutes an area of scientific discussion between the industry, the government and the academy on the effects of the products on human health and environment. It discusses issues linked to toxicology, ecotoxicology, environmental destination, epidemiology and risk analysis.
"This work allows us to rely on updated information in the interdisciplinary field of agriculture, toxicology, chemistry, biology and public health,” explained Eduardo Buttler, the national director of agrochemical, veterinary products and food at Senasa.
The publication has been revised by an editorial committee formed by professionals Susana García, Amalia Ponzio and Miguel López. This latest work has the contribution of the Direction of Food Quality at Senasa.
ILSI Argentina is a non-profit civil association formed since 1990, promoting scientific issues in areas of nutrition, obesity, innocuity, toxicology, risk evaluation and environmental health. The agency works with scientists coming from public and private organizations, supporting conferences, seminaries, workshops and educational activities.
