AppsforAgri acquires NBAWS
Date:11-17-2016
On 1st November 2016, AppsforAgri acquired Nieveen & Bouma Agro Weather Services (NBAWS). In past years, NBAWS had developed numerous interactive tools and models for pest management and crop protection decisions. Due to a stronger demand, NBAWS has joined forces with AppforAgri. Using AppforAgri’s professional knowledge of IT and NBAWS’ in-depth meteorological know-how, they will develop even more products and services for optimal and sustainable farming.
Nieveen & Bouma Agro Weather Services
NBAWS specialises in the effect of weather on crop protection and crop diseases. Founded in 2007, over 25 models for crop diseases have been established. Furthermore, they have developed a novel way to save on the application of crop protection products, called: SprayWeatherWise. With this tool, users can plan crop protection activities around periods with the highest efficiency and get a better understanding about the way that crop protection products behave. Users of NBAWS data are: OCI Agro, Agrifirm, Adama, WeatherOnline Ltd, Newfarm Agriconsult and 365FarmNet.
Erno Bouma (CEO NBAWS) talks about the merger: “Because technical developments are going so fast, we have teamed up with a strong, strategic partner. We can now focus on R&D and the development of our knowledge and innovative products for a sustainable agriculture.”
