China's Shandong Province shuts down 935 enterprises having safety and environmental risks

By Think Real - In September 2016, China’s Shandong Economic and Information Technology Committee announced the new progress made during the transformation of local chemical industry towards environmentally friendly and safe production. So far 935 enterprises having safety and environmental risks have been shut down and 1,319 suspended for production. This signals a large decline in the source of risks. From January to July, 4 big accidents happened to the indust0ry and caused 10 deaths, figures respectively down by 11 and 16.
It is ascertained that by the end of July, there were 9,505 chemical manufacturers in the province, of which 3,415 were hazardous chemicals ones. Now 6,713 enterprises are running normally, 538 under construction and 1,319 suspended.
In regards to chemical industrial parks / zones, by the end of July, there were 239 parks / zones / clusters. It is reported that the regulation is now going on actively, expected to have the number reduce to 128.
