Coumoxystrobin to be registered in China
Date:09-23-2016
The Chinese Ministry of Agriculture recently released a list of pesticide products that will be granted registration, of which Jilin Bada Pesticide Co., Ltd., will receive full registration for the distribution of its 96% coumoxystrobin technical and 20% coumoxystrobin SC, for the control of apple valsa canker. It is also the first coumoxystrobin product registered in China.
Coumoxystrobin is a strobilurin fungicide developed by Shenyang Research Institute of Chemical Industry, for which the institute has obtained a Chinese patent. The active ingredient inhibits the synthesis of ATP by inhibiting the electron transport between cytochrome b and c1, thus stopping the mitochondrial respiration of the fungi. Coumoxystrobin has strong activity in controlling plant diseases caused by mastigomycetes, zygomycetes, ascomycetes, basidiomycetes, and adelomycetes, including apple valsa canker, Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, cucumber fusarium wilt, rice bakanae disease, and some other diseases in both F&V and row crops.
As a strobilurin fungicide, currently the most prevalent fungicide category in the world, coumoxystrobin will have an extensive market in the near future. Jilin Bada is now working on a series of coumoxystrobin mixture products and has been approved for registration in 2013 for its 40% coumoxystrobin and tebuconazole SC.
