NorthStar Genetics today announced a new relationship with Albert Lea Seed with ALS becoming an exclusive distributor of NS’s traited soybean and corn products.
“We’re really excited to begin this new distributorship with our long-term friends at ALS”, said Dan Hogstad, CEO of NorthStar Genetics.
NorthStar Genetics (based in Wanamingo, MN) is the largest privately-held seed company in Minnesota. “This relationship will certainly add to our strength, especially in southern Minnesota and northern Iowa”, continued Hogstad.
NorthStar Genetics has been in the soybean seed business for over 20 years, offering a full lineup today’s soybeans:
RR2 soybeans
LL soybeans
R2Xtend soybeans
Enlist soybeans when available
NorthStar Genetics now also offers a complete lineup of corn hybrids, including all trait platforms. This complete line-up will enhance our ability to provide a great service to ALS customers as well as our existing NorthStar customer base. Our expanded corn line-up and our industry-leading soybean line-up allows multi-product discounting by adding value to both corn and soybean purchases.
Twenty years ago, ALS was a founding member of NorthStar Genetics, and sold NS products for a number of years. “This relationship is being renewed, and we’re very pleased to be moving forward with new traits, new products and continued family-owned businesses supplying cutting-edge soy and corn products,” said Hogstad.
“We’re thrilled to be able to offer our customers NorthStar’s complete line of traited corn and soybean seed,” said Mac Ehrhardt, 3rd-generation owner of Albert Lea Seed. “There is no question that NorthStar’s size and expertise will bring our customers a bigger menu of trait and genetic seed solutions.”
