Expointer 2016 – Syngenta launches Cypress fungicide to control soybean diseases
Date:09-02-2016
Syngenta announced on Tuesday (08.30) the launch of the Cypress fungicide, which acts as a potentiator of disease management for diseases, such as the Asian Rust. The announcement was made during the largest outdoor farm show in Latin America, the Expointer 2016 – which is being held from 27th of August to 4th of September in Esteio, state of Rio Grande do Sul.
The strategic combination of two active ingredients - Cyproconazole and Difenoconazole – makes Cypress a strong ally to combat complex diseases targeting soybeans, and capable of causing losses of over half of grain production. Syngenta noted that the technology maintains one of the major commitments assumed through the “Sustainable Agriculture Plan”.
“In the last few years, we have observed the intense search conducted by Brazilian farmers through different forms to improve the performance of disease control in all stages of the soybean crop. Concerned with this issue, Syngenta brings to the market an intelligent alternative to supply this important demand for soybean growers because, besides being effective, Cypress adds convenience. The formulation brings easy preparation of syrup, which does not clog application nozzles and is not easily washed away by rain, contrary to the majority of fungicides based on Mancozeb, also known as protecting fungicides,” noted Rafael Oliveira, portfolio manager of fungicides for Syngenta.
