As a traditional agriculture country, Peru occupied a leading position in the regional production of the following crops: sugarcane, coffee, cotton, corn, rice, wheat and tomato, as well as who employs 30 percent of the country's population related to agriculture field.
Recent years have witnessed the continuous development of economic in Peru, pushed by overseas expanding demand of primary agricultural products.
In 2013, The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Peru was worth 202.30 billion US dollars and Peruvian agricultural exports top $3.1billion, agricultural exports expanded 11% in 2013.
China owns the most volumes of production capability and export value in worldwide, of agrochemical production since 2010s.
In 2013, Agrochemical production exports totaled 1,100,000 tons, including for 1100,000 tons for herbicides, 370,000 tons for insecticides, 130,000 tons for fungicides.
In 2014, Peruvian market of agrochemicals had amounted to $200 million dollars. More, related to the expansion of cultivated areas, this market was expected to grow between 6% and 8% in 2015.
It is stated that 40% of sales were for insecticides, 35% for fungicides, and 25% for herbicides. The production and technology in agrochemical industry of China will be a strong supplement for Peruvian demanding.
With the high growth of agriculture development in South America, the demand for agrochemical products is dramatically expanding in recent years.
In 2013, the pesticide export to South America is about 410,000 tons from China, nearly one quarter of annual export volume of China of agrochemical products. The most significant changing can be seen in Brazil, Columbia, Uruguay and Peru.
In South America, countries are Brazil, Argentina, Columbia, Uruguay, Paraguay, of imported value over 100 million from china of agrochemical products.
