USDA to prepare EIS on GM creeping bentgrass
Date:08-08-2016
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service’s (APHIS) Biotechnology Regulatory Services (BRS) announces intent to prepare an environmental impact statement (EIS) to evaluate the environmental impacts that may result from the approval of a petition for deregulation of a creeping bentgrass genetically engineered for glyphosate resistance.
The APHIS requested that the public review its Notice of Intent (NOI) and provide comment to help them identify potential issues and impacts that APHIS should consider in the evaluation of the petition from Scotts Company and Monsanto Company. The NOI will be published in the Federal Register in the coming days.
