Sinochem Group formulated China’s first international pesticide standard
Date:07-04-2016
Recently, two novel FAO(Food and Agriculture Organization )pesticide standards, created by the Shenyang Research Institute of Chemical Industry under the Sinochem Group, passed evaluation, marking a breakthrough in the formulation of international pesticide standards by a Chinese enterprise.
The two standards are for pyraoxystrobin technical and pyraoxystrobin SC, which were appraised and approved by Joint Meeting of Pesticide Standards’ experts at the recent FAO, WHO and CIPAC(Collaborative International Pesticides Analytical Council)joint conference. The standards will be used as a governing rule and for technical assurance in the international trade of pyraoxystrobin.
Pyraoxystrobin is a novel strobilurin fungicide developed by the Shenyang Research Institute of Chemical Industry. It was granted an invention patent in China, the United States, Japan, and Europe. The product features high fungicidal activity and environmental compatibility, making it an effective broad-spectrum fungicide. After several years of hard work, the institute established a CIPAC analysis method for China’s first self-created novel pesticide, which was submitted to the FAO for approval of the new standard, accompanied by a complete set of research data required for the standards formulation process.
