Adama will invest R$ 14.4 million to modernize a factory unit in the city of Taquari, state of Rio Grande do Sul in southern Brazil. The plant produces herbicides, acaricides, fungicides, house cleaning products, fertilizers and biostimulants. The investment will have as its main focus the production of fungicides, enabling the expansion of the portfolio and the development of new solutions and products.
According to the Industrial Manager of the Adama factory, Gerson Bencke, the investment will enable a faster access to the products. “The improvement process will last two years. At the end of this, the complex will be ready to make the new fungicide, which is currently being registered and will have as main focus the combat to the Asian Rust on soybean crops. It is another benefit for the producer,” declares Bencke.
The investments at the factory will contemplate the modernization of the plant with an extension of the synthesis unity of fungicides, where active ingredients are manufactured. This operation is made in chemical reactors controlled by automated systems that will undergo modernization.
Bencke explains that the initial investment were already made in 2016. In this first stage, the definition of the procedures of manufacturing of new products at the unit as well technical details for the emission of the Previous Operation License by the State Foundation of Environmental Protection of Rio Grande do Sul. “After the legal procedures, we will make the acquisition of equipment that will enable the assembly of the factory and production optimization. This way, in March of 2018 we will be producing with maximum power in Taquari,” affirms Bencke. This way, it will be invested R$ 11.4 million in 2017 and R$ 3.14 million in 2018.
The changes will bring the opportunity of employment for that city. During the works of remodeling of the unit, around 60 jobs will be created temporarily at the operation and production areas. Currently, the factory unit employs 78 effective employees in Taquari that will undergo training and professional development for this new industry stage.
