Pesticide production in May up regulated 9.6% in China

According to National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS), China produced 319,749 tons of pesticide in May, up 9.6% comparing to the same period last year. From Jan to May, the country produced total 1,546,882 tons of pesticide, increased 3.8% on a y-o-y basis.

Herbicide produced in May increased by 10%, reaching 147,152 tons and accounting for 46% of the total production. Insecticide production down regulated 3.8% to 42,254 tons and consisted 13% of the total. Fungicide production increased most by 17.4%, reaching 17,496 tons, making up 5% of the total production.

From Jan to May, China produced 781,161 tons of herbicide, up 6.58% comparing to the same period last year. Insecticide production went down 9.6% to 188,578 tons. Fungicide production increased 9.7% to 84,135 tons.
