Canada approves buprofezin insecticide and metofluthrin repellent

The Canadian Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) has granted full registration for the sale and use of Nihon Nohyaku's Buprofezin Technical and Applaud Insect Growth Regulator, containing the technical grade active ingredient buprofezin, to control whiteflies on greenhouse vegetables (cucumbers, peppers and tomatoes) and greenhouse ornamentals (excluding cut flowers).

The agency has also granted full registration for the sale and use of Sumitomo Chemical's SumiOne Technical Grade and OFF! Mosquito Lamp, OFF! PowerPad Mosquito Lamp 2 and OFF! Mosquito Coils 2, containing the technical grade active ingredient metofluthrin, as an outdoor area repellent for mosquitos.
