China pesticide trade value decreased from Jan to Apr

According to data released by the Chinese General Administration of Customs, from Jan to April this year, China's pesticide import and export trade value fell by 7.8% to $1.615 billion compared to the same period last year. 

 

During this period, China imported 39,000 tons of pesticide worth $316 million, with import volume rising 1.5% while value dropped by 5.1% year-on-year. The import volume and value of insecticides increased by 13.1% and 10.3% respectively to 5,000 tins and $71 million. Fungicides’ import volume increased by 6.1%, while its value dipped by 4.2% to $129 million. The import volume and value of herbicides both fell, with value drastically decreasing by 18.2% to reach $75 million.  

 

During the period, the country exported a total of 477,000 tons of pesticide, with volume rising 2.2%, while value fell by 8.4% to $1.300 billion . Herbicide exports continued to decline, with volume dropping by 0.8% and value decreasing by 13.4% to reach $810 million. Insecticide export volumes went up by 10.2% to 80,000 tons, while value dipped by 1.8% to $284 million. Fungicide export volumes and value rose 20% and 5.4% respectively to reach 34,000 tons and $167 million.
