Morgan Seeds and Biotechnology launched two new corn hybrids in Brazil: MG600 and MG580, which have main characteristics of early cycle and high production potential. According to the manufacturer, the MG600 “allies its high productivity with production stability and it is highlighted because of its leaf sanity and high resistance”.
The MG 580, says Morgan, is a “versatile hybrid with great yield potential for the summer as well as the for the winter crop. Due to its erect architecture, the crops support a population that can reach 75,000 plants per hectare at the summer crop, according to the region”.
All of the Morgan hybrids are available with the POWERCORE™ technology, throughout five staked genes, bringing an increase of crop productivity according to the technology level and climate conditions in the field. With three Bt proteins inserted, it brings multiple modes of actions that allow the control of some corn plagues – such as the Fall Armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda), the Cane Borer (Diatraea saccharalis), the Corn Earworm (Helicoverpa zea), the Lesser Cornstalk Borer (Elasmopalpus lignosellus), the Black Cutworm (Agrotis ipsilon) and the Southern Armyworm Moth (Spodptera eridania).
The technology also offers tolerance to glyphosate and glufosinate, which allows the flexibility of management, optimizing machinery and spraying labor.
