DSV expands its international maize portfolio
Date:01-11-2016
In order to extend its market position in maize into other European maize markets, in cooperation with another German breeding concern, DSV has spent the last two years in setting up a wide-ranging test network across the whole of Europe. The first of these new varieties are already authorised in some countries, others are at the registration stage. In the Netherlands this year MOVANNA (FAO 210) achieved a dry matter yield of rel. 102. These good results were confirmed in England with a relative dry matter yield of 103.
In the first year of value analyses in the Netherlands KORYNT (FAO 240), the new medium-early dual use maize from DSV achieved a grain yield of rel. 104 and a silage yield of rel. 103.
In Germany LIBERATOR (FAO 250), the new medium-early corn maize from DSV achieved the outstanding figure of rel. 106 in corn yield in the North Rhine Westphalia and Lower Saxony State variety trials. In the Netherlands LIBERATOR showed further very good agronomical traits. It received the highest grade (8) for youth development and could further reach a good starch content with rel. 102 as a silage maize.
