High chiral ratio indoxacarb technical launched by Jingbo Agrochemical
Date:01-05-2016
Recently, Jingbo Agrochemical successfully launched the 9:1 isomer ratio indoxacarb technical manufacturing plant (90% S-enantiomer content), which has now been brought into scaled production, with quality reaching advanced international levels.
Indoxacarb, which is developed by DuPont, is widely recognized by the market for its properties of high efficiency, low toxicity, and protection against cross-resistance. To date, indoxacarb has been registered and sold in over 75 countries, mainly for applications to cotton, followed by fruit and vegetables. The global sales of indoxacarb reached $180 million in 2013.
When indoxacarb came off patent in China, a number of enterprises launched the production of indoxacarb technical. However, this product has a 75% S-enantiomer content. While market demand from more and more countries is turning to indoxacarb EC from SC and indoxacarb GR, high-chiral-ratio indoxacarb technical is expected by the market.
Before this breakthrough was made, some manufacturers used a purification process to increase the chiral ratio, but that resulted in higher costs and substandard quality. Cheng Daoquan, the chief executive of Strategic Cooperation of Jingbo Agrochemical, disclosed that the company has been working on the high chiral ratio indoxacarb technical in recent years and has finally secured a successful price performance ratio. With the high-quality indoxacarb technical being put into production by Jingbo Agrochemical, an upgrade of indoxacarb technical is foreseen, which may gradually phase out the 3:1, or lower-ratio, product currently in the market.
