EU approves sodium hydrogen carbonate as basic substance

EU has approved sodium hydrogen carbonate as a basic substance under the EU agrochemical registration Directive (1107/2009). The approval is effective on 8 December 2015, and has no expiry date. The basic substance is not predominantly used for plant protection purposes but nevertheless is useful in plant protection in a product consisting of the substance and water.
On 26 March 2014, EU received an application from the the Danish Environmental Protection Agency for the approval of sodium hydrogen carbonate as basic substance.
