The sale of Consagro Agroquímica, a company formerly owned by the FMC group in Brazil, to Atanor, a subsidiary of Albaugh, LLC, was approved without restrictions. The decision was taken by the Superintendent of the Brazilian Administrative Council for Economic Defense (Cade), the country's anti-trust agency, and the decision was published at the Official Gazette.
Consagro distributes generic agrochemicals, working with fungicides, acaricides, herbicides and insecticides, among other products. The sale of the company, which has three unities in Brazil (in the state of São Paulo), is part of a strategy announced by FMC of “rationalizing the portfolio”.
