DuPont Pioneer to upgrade, expand its Iowa research facility
Date:11-16-2015
DuPont Pioneer will expand its Krug research complex as part of a $28.1 million upgrade and expansion at its Johnston corporate campus.
The 4,965-square-foot addition will provide more room for rearing insect colonies and conducting research related to insect resistance management, said Jane Slusark, media relations manager for DuPont Pioneer.
The $1.3 million Krug project will benefit from a $48,000 forgivable loan made through Johnston's tax increment financing program.
No new jobs will come with the expansion, but it's expected to generate $25,430 per year in property taxes.
