Dupont has entered the insecticide treatment for soybean seeds market in Argentina with the launch of Lumivia RA in an event in Puerto Iguazú. The company says that the product offers benefits such as effectiveness, economic savings and low toxicity.
The combination of control of insects such as weevils and defoliating caterpillar is another benefit, DuPont claims. These plagues are very commonly present in the Northwest of Argentina, where the company “exhaustively” has made experiments with the product during the last six years.
For Gustavo Parodi, marketing manager for Insecticides and Seeds Treatment in the Southern Cone at DuPont, the arrival of the product will generate a buzz in the field. “It is innovative because it brings a solution to the market. What is the innovation that is not already in the market? The combined control of chopped, rolls and other Lepidoptera. The sector has alternatives, but they are not as complete. Today, you need two products. With Lumivia, you need just one,” summarized Parodi.
The introduction of the molecule rynaxypyr allows a new and more effective mode of action considering that it affects the muscular system and protects the seedling at the first 14 days, the company states.
"This is really revolutionary because it is other type of molecule and other form of helping, mostly through its toxicological band, and other way of helping is the strategic management with the goal of achieving higher productivity,” DuPont marketing manager Guillermo Fucci told portal Infocampo.
Another point highlighted by the company is that the product is environmentally friendly. The toxicological profile preserves the life of beneficial insects, which cause less impact in the environment. “You need three times less of the product per hectare compared to the alternatives in the market. In the north of Argentina, with greater extensions, the manipulation and logistics are huge. You have to transport three times less this product, which a huge advantage,” concludes Parodi.
