Andermatt Biocontrol's Grandex obtained approval in Australia
Date:11-04-2015
Grandex®, a Cydia pomonella granulovirus (CpGV), manufactured by Andermatt Biocontrol, Switzerland, obtained approval in Australia in September 2015.
The use of Grandex provides excellent control of two significant key pests (Cydia pomonella and Grapholita molesta), leaving zero residues and being absolutely harmless to non-target organisms. Thus, Grandex offers new and meaningful options for biological control and IPM strategies.
Australian Pesticides & Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) granted applications of Grandex for use on pome fruit and stone fruit.
Grandex is already registered in Switzerland, Bulgaria, France, Italy, Lebanon, Russia, South Africa, Ukraine, Uruguay and USA. Further registrations of Grandex are in process. In Australia, Grandex will be distributed by Organic Crop Protectants (OCP).
