India and Netherlands launched Gujarat Seed Valley

Recently, Netherlands Business Support Office in collaboration with Gujarat State Seed Corporation Ltd. (Gurabini) and Gujarat State Seed Producers Association have launched Seed Valley in the State of Gujarat on the 10th September during the Agri Asia 2015 agricultural exhibition cum conference. The venue was at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, State capital of Gujarat, India.
As the opening ceremony of Gujarat Seed Valley, the website: www.seedvalley.in was launched, followed by a Seminar on Elite Seeds and Technologies from the Netherlands. The seminar was organised by Netherlands Business Support Office Ahmedabad at the venue, Mahatma Mandir.
In the opening seminar of Seed Valley at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, there were four Dutch companies: Bejo-Sheetal; Rijk Zwaan India; Incotec India; and Wageningen University Reasearch Scientists made presentations on Seeds. Followed by the Seminar, a panel discussion took place in order to bring out a way forward for this knowledge consortium.
The original concept of Seed Valley has come up ehen Mr. Job Glas, Chief Representative of Netherlands Business Support Office Ahmedabad and Dr. Manish Patel, Managing Director Incotec India Pvt. Ltd. Visited the Dutch Seed Valley (www.seedvalley.nl) at Enkhouzen in The Netherlands in May 2014.
Prior to the launching of the Seed Valley, a delegation of Dutch seed companies and the officials from Netherlands Embassy, the NBSO Ahmedabad, and the Team Leader of Seed Valley – Dr. Manish Patel of Incotec visited the honourable Chief Minister of Gujarat and held an introductory joint meeting with the CM & the Minister for Agriculture & Cooperation to brief about the seed valley concept, its goal and the advantages to Gujarat farmers by establishing the Seed Valley in Gujarat. Dr. Patel briefed about the entire plan of Seed Valley consortium and its way forward to the Gujarat Government leaders. The agricultural minister promised the support on this endeavour.
