Phenamacril’s new functional mechanism recognized
Date:10-20-2015
A few days ago, FRAC awarded phenamacril an independent code number for its functional mechanism and resistance risk.
Phenamacril is a cyanoacrylate-based novel selective fungicide developed by China Southern Pesticide Discovery Center Jiangsu Base for the use in Fusarium. After more than 10 years of research, the team has uncovered that the fungicide is a myosin-5 inhibitor that destroys cytoskeleton and motor protein. It was also discovered that the wheat scab myosin-5 may generate differential mutation and genetic regulation, causing resistance at low, medium, high and extreme-high levels. Hence, phenamacril's resistance to risk management strategy is formed. After 3 years of promotions, the sales volume of phenamacril has ranked No.1 among pesticides discovered in China.
