Nufarm announced that Marcos Gaio, a Brazilian, as its new president for Latin Ameirca. He is an agronomist graduated at the Federal University of Viçosa and an MBA in Agribusiness by the Getúlio Vargas Foundation and also an MBA in Advertising and Marketing from ESPM, besides obtaining a certificate in international master of Business Administration from Ohio University (U.S.).
Born in the city of Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, Gaio works for over 30 years in the farm business sector. He worked for big companies in the sector such as DuPont, FMC in Brazil and other places in the Americas.
"The eating habits are each time more sophisticated and the demand for proteins grows year by year. As the main source of vegetable protein is soybean, Brazil and Argentina will be the top players of farm business in the near future. Our region also has a big aptitude for the production of other crops such as corn, rice, wheat, coffee, orange, fruits, and vegetables, besides being one of the great poles of biomass. Sugarcane will continue to be a big slice of the regional agriculture. This market is the big wheel for the development of the region," declares Gaio.
Regarding the new challenges in this new post, he clarifies that he intends to continue to maintain the growth by investing in innovation and directing the company with focus on customers: "I'm gathering the necessary tools to succeed. We have several ongoing projects that will bring a lot of options to keep this growth ahead".
