Syngenta's insecticide Ampligo got approval in Brazil‏
Date:09-07-2015
Syngenta has just obtained the registration for the use of insecticide Ampligo (Lambda-cialotrina+Clorantraniliprole) in its desiccation phase in Brazil with the goal of protecting plant population. The product is therefore the only diamide insecticide in the market with registration for this type of usage, which positions the company ahead in the insecticide market and also on the portfolio directed to soybeans.
The pre-planting desiccation is a technique used to prepare the field for the crop planting and one of its goals is to eliminate weeds through the application of herbicides. Since now, farmers can also use Ampligo, which is considered a great ally in plague control and caterpillar combat. The launch of the product might occur about 40 days before planting, when generally the soil is being prepared.
Currently, nearly 70% of the soybean area is planted in October. "Over 40% of the soybean planted area in this crop season will be with biotechnology and Ampligo offers the best safety investment for the producer, protecting the grain by the time it needs the most, on emergency, once the caterpillar is present even before planting," explains Insecticide Products manager of Syngenta, Fernando Zinsly.
Syngenta makes an integrated promotion plan for Ampligo, which include wide-spread media press releasing, actions like field days and lectures, focusing on educating the new positioning of Ampligo in the pre-planting stage of soybean. In the state of Mato Grosso, for instance, Syngenta used a space in an event called "It is time to plant" of the Mato Grosso Foundation to introduce its new positioning in the soybean producing municipalities as well as in the state of Paraná, in the south of the country, at the event OfySyn that gathers major distributors.
