China approved a joint venture established by Hengji Seed and Limagrain

The joint venture (JV) established by Gansu Hengji Seed Co. Ltd. (Hengji Seed, in China) and Groupe Limagrain (Limagrain, in France) was officially approved by the Ministry of Agriculture of the People’s Republic of China.
Hengji Seed is a high-tech enterprise set up by Anhui Xinbang Entrepreneurship and Investment Co., Ltd. in Zhangye City in December 2011, with a registered capital of USD16.3 million. It is expected that the investment will comprise 4 phases and total USD81.7 million. In 2012, the 1st-phase USD19.6 million was finished.
Now Hengji Seed is mainly engaged in the production, processing and sale of corn seed, targeted at Heilongjiang, Jilin and Gansu provinces and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
In September 2013, Ruan Nuoyi, Vice President of the Board of Directors of Limagrain, ever paid a visit to Zhangye City and made an exchange with the local government about the cooperation in corn seed making, vegetable seed making, modern agriculture, etc.
