Date:07-22-2015
JR Simplot has rebranded its biotech potato for the consumer market.
The potato that has been known as Innate will now be called White Russets. These potatoes are grown to be less prone to bruising and black spots. The White Russet potatoes will also stay white longer when cut or peeled.
JR Simplot got U.S. approvals for ten biotech potatoes for feed, food use and cultivation in 2014. White Russet potatoes will be sold in the U.S. starting this summer.
