BASF ERAGONĀ® LQ herbicide registered on cereals in Canada
Date:07-15-2015
BASF’s herbicide ERAGON® LQ (saflufenacil, trade name KIXOR®) is registered for pre-harvest weed management on wheat, barley and triticale for the 2015 season in Canada. ERAGON LQ tank-mixed with glyphosate provides growers fast and complete weed dry down for wheat and barley.
"BASF is committed to providing growers in Eastern Canada with the tools that will help them harvest a high quality crop," said Deven Esqueda, Brand Manager, Eastern Herbicides, for BASF Canada. "ERAGON LQ herbicide provides multiple modes of action and offers superior control of a broad spectrum of weeds, including those resistant to glyphosate, triazine and Group 2 chemistries."
For wheat (durum, spring, winter), barley (spring, winter, malting) and triticale, ERAGON LQ should be applied at the hard dough stage. At this stage, the kernel should be firm and when pressed with a thumbnail, the impression is held. Kernel moisture content is approximately 30%.
Applying too early can potentially reduce yield and impact quality.
ERAGON LQ is also registered for harvest aid and desiccant use in soybeans, dry beans and canola.
