Brazil's anti-trust agency approved Bayer, Agrium deal‏

The supervision of the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE), Brazil's anti-trust agency, approved without any restrictions the distribution agreement between Bayer and Agrium and Agrium's Brazilian subsidiary Utifértil.
The agreement between the parties was signed in December of 2014, agreeing Utilfértil and its Brazilian affiliates will distribute products of Bayer in all the national territory. The term of the valid period was agreed to be 120 months and may be extended.
The partnership involves the sales of agrochemical products for diverse products such as cotton, rice, oven, potato, coffee, sugarcane, rye, barley, citrus fruits, kidney beans, fruits, soybeans, corn, and wheat.
At the recent "Official Gazette" of CADE, the anti-trust agency justifies that Utifértil‘s market share size does not provoke an horizontal overlap. According to the statement, "Utifértil activities little alter the market share detained by Bayer".
